Spinster Spotlight: Camille W.

Studio SpinsterName & age
Camille Werzowa, 25 years old

Where are you from?
Los Angeles, CA

What is your day job?
Nuclear Chemistry Technician at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station

What classes are you currently taking at Studio Spin and when did you start?
I mostly go to open pole and mixed/level 3/4 pole classes. I started a year ago (on August 26th).

What do you like about your classes?
I love finding a new way to workout and challenge my body. Pole has made me stronger physically, but also mentally. I am so much more confident in my body and so proud of what it can do!

What is your current favorite move/trick?
That’s hard. I really like Bow and Arrow, Eros, and Brass Monkey. I loved how I was so scared to do them, but then you get into them and you’re like “oh! Wow this is not bad!” which I feel perfectly describes poling in general.

What is your current nemesis trick?
I’m not flexible. Like at ALL. I only just managed to touch my toes and the floor. So I have a hard time with any splits/bendy moves. Also thread-throughs…those look really awkward when I do them. I’m just not elegant or flexy.

What is your favorite kind of music to dance to? Do you have a favorite song?
It depends on my mood. But mostly dance or alternative feel good songs. If there’s a story to the song or I can relate to the song, I’ll dance to it. I can’t pick a favorite song….I have too many.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?
CHOCOLATE!! I love it, and I heard if you rub it on your skin it makes you live forever XP.

Are there any books and/or movies you recommend?
If you haven’t seen Zoolander, then you should go watch it right now. A great book is Never Let Me Go.

Who’s your favorite pole dancer/aerialist/dancer that you enjoy following on social media?
Oh I have a lot….but top are Dan Rosen, Giselle, Mel Grace, Angelina…..to name a few….

What is the coolest place that you’ve traveled to?
I LOVE to travel. It’s my number one motivation to go to work! XD I think top places are Iceland and Maldives!

Favorite food?
Chocolate anything. Or pasta anything

Is there any place in Lancaster that you recommend going to?
I highly recommend Bistro Barbaret if you want 100% authentic French food. My family’s from France, so I give it the gold stamp of approval.

Do you have any advice for newbies just starting out?
Don’t be discouraged! It took me a while to get my Fireman spin. But once I got it things slowly started to click. And there are amazing instructors at the studio! So don’t feel afraid to ask them (or other students) for help. We’re like family and just want to help each other 🙂
