Studio Spin studentName & age:
Page, 27

Where are you from?
Lancaster, PA

What is your day job?
Customer service specialist at Roseville Pediatrics

What classes are you currently taking at Studio Spin and when did you start?
Pole level 2 and Lyra level 1 and occasionally Flexibility Training or Floorplay. I think i started May of 2018

What do you like about your classes?
I love the feeling I get from working out. I sometimes feel like I’m addicted to sore muscles. I annoy my boyfriend because I keep telling him I’m hooked on a feeling and it hurts so good. Classes at Studio Spin have changed my life in so many ways. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been and I can feel it. I have a motivation and drive I’ve never felt before. I feel confident and happy the majority of the time and I know it’s because of everything I’ve learned at Studio Spin. I’ve never really been a fan of myself, it’s fair to say that at times I’ve hated myself. Since I’ve started taking classes at Studio Spin I’ve felt happy as me, and proud to be who I am. Also, I’ve met some amazing people at the studio and love spending time with everyone.

What is your current favorite move/trick?
I adore reverse rockstar. The feeling of falling is so amazing and I love getting a little extra air on it.

What is your current nemesis trick?
I feel a little lame admitting it but forearm climb is currently my nemesis.

What is your favorite kind of music to dance to? Do you have a favorite song?
I really like dancing to punk. I’m hugely into just throwing myself into dancing and getting as much speed as possible. Guardian Angel by Abandon All Ships is my number 1 at the moment.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?
I’m in love with Reese’s Fast Breaks.

Are there any books and/or movies you recommend?
My favorite movie is ”Repo! The Genetic Opera.” It’s a musical about a future society where organ repossession is legal. For books I’d recommend the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. It’s this awesome story about this teen girl that kicks butt and takes names. Also, I love the Feyland series, it’s about a video game that connects the material world to the fey world.

Who’s your favorite pole dancer/aerialist/dancer that you enjoy following on social media?
Um…Rachel Skye, lol no lie. She’s always the first to pop up on my insta and her routines ROCK. I promise I’m not sucking up. Haha.

What is the coolest thing you have done in your life? Or coolest place that you traveled to?
I have about a million insane stories but I think working at American Music Theatre was probably the coolest thing I’ve done. I got to meet The Temptations, The Straight No Chasers, Trace Adkins, and a ton of other awesome people.

Favorite food?
Fruit. Which fruit can change but it’s always some kind of fruit!

Is there any place in Lancaster that you recommend going to?
I love American Bar and Grill. There’s a great bar crawl you can do on Plum Street. Start at Lancaster Brewing Company, then walk to Quips, Stubby’s (optional because it’s a little out of the way), Rumplebrewskin’s, and end at American Bar and Grill.  American Bar and Grill also has karaoke on Wednesdays. Tellus360 is awesome too.

Do you have any advice for newbies just starting out?
Whatever you’re doing, throw yourself at it. Starting is what makes it scary and sometimes you have to toss those fears aside. So before you have a chance to fear it, do it. That being said, know your limits because no one wants you getting hurt. 🙂
