Where are you from?
What is your day job?
Receptionist at Tangles Salon. Currently attending Empire Beauty School.
What classes are you currently taking and when did you start?
I started pole classes in March 2016, Lyra in September 2017 and I do silks occasionally.
What do you like about pole and aerial? How has it affected your life?
I love the supportive atmosphere that the studio itself has. Everyone is willing to help and guide you as well as celebrate with you when you accomplish something. I enjoy the fitness aspect because you don’t always feel like you’re working out (until the next morning of course!) I also love the artistic side of things. How free I can be to express my emotion on any apparatus.
What is your current favorite move/trick?
On Lyra–Inverted Straddle. On Pole–Lover, Cross Knee Release and Cross Ankle Release. On Silks–D-Drop.
What is your current nemesis trick?
On Pole, it’s the Jamilla. Single Hip Hangs on Lyra and the Chinese Split on Silks.
What is your favorite kind of music to dance to? Or what song/genre are you really into lately?
Anything lyrical that shows great emotion or a song that I can create emotion to.
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
What is the coolest thing you have done in your life?
Won the Ground Champion Market Steer at the county fair.
Do you have any advice for newbies just starting out?
Go for it! No matter how much you think you can’t do it, you can. It will take time but you’ll develop great strength both physically and mentally along the way. As well as awesome friendships!
