Slowing Down

This month, we’re focusing on slowing…it…down. What is it exactly? Anything in your life that needs a little extra time to steep, process, think through or even pause for the moment.

Been sprinting at full tilt this year? Well, it’s about time you hit the brakes and show yourself some care. When we slow ourselves down, we grant ourselves the invaluable gift of time and space to truly connect with our bodies, to make decisions with wisdom, and to provide ourselves the rest we so deserve. It’s not just a luxury; it’s a necessity.

When it comes to learning something new in your movement journey, don’t just rush through it like a bull in a china shop. Let your body absorb every sensation that arises from exploring fresh positions. Racing to “nail that move” will only make you deaf to the valuable messages your body is trying to convey.

When it comes to forging new connections, don’t let your impatience dictate the pace. Bulldozing into relationships may feel great in the moment but rarely leads to depth or authenticity. Instead, dare to slow grow a budding connection. Give yourself the advantage of observing actions, not just words. People will reveal their true character over time. Don’t let the important stuff slip through the cracks because you got lost in your own damn tunnel vision.
